Luminart Design Studio

About Luminart

The studio, the maker, and how a commissioned piece comes to life.

Luminart Design Studio (formerly DJ's Custom Interiors) is a Seattle-area custom art studio specializing in illuminated, one-of-a-kind wall art — carved wood and integrated light, made to order. Founded by artist Dipti "DJ", each piece is designed around your space, your story, and the way light moves through your room.

Every commission starts with a free consultation and an AI-assisted preview of the piece in your space, so you can see it before it's built. From a single statement work to a series across a home, our art is defined by thoughtful materials, striking light, and a simple, collaborative process — and we're consistently rated 5.0 stars by our clients. Pieces are made in the Seattle area, with local delivery and install, and shipping to other areas by arrangement.

What Our Clients Say

★★★★★

"I had an amazing experience working with LuminArt Design Studio on my husband's office space. What was once the smallest bedroom was transformed into a highly functional, beautiful space — they brilliantly used an angular wall to create a seamless desk setup. They truly brought his vision to life with creativity and attention to detail."

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with us

How much does a commissioned piece cost?

Every piece is priced by collection, size, and complexity, and you'll receive an exact quote after a free consultation. As a guide, the Mountain collection starts at $699 (30 × 42 in) and scales with size, while Abstract, Star-lit, and fully bespoke pieces are quoted on inquiry. A 50% deposit begins your commission and the balance is due on completion. See the Commissions page for the full breakdown.

What makes your art different from flat wall art?

Our pieces are dimensional and lit. Instead of a flat print or canvas, each work is carved and layered in wood to create real depth and shadow, then wired with integrated lighting so it reads as art by day and glows from within at night. The result is a living focal point that shifts with the light and the time of day — not a static picture on the wall.

What does the commission process look like?

Three simple steps:

  1. Inquiry & Consultation: Share your space, style, size, and budget; we send back an AI-assisted preview of the piece in your room.
  2. Deposit & Build: A 50% deposit starts the build, made to order and ready in up to 6 weeks.
  3. Delivery & Install: Hand-delivered and installed locally in the Seattle area, with shipping to other areas by arrangement.

Full details are on the Commissions page.

Where do you ship, and do you install?

We're based in the Seattle area, where we offer hand delivery and professional installation so your piece is mounted and lit exactly right. Shipping to other areas can be arranged on request. Working with an interior designer or ordering from further afield? We'll sort out the logistics — just ask.

What makes your art different from other makers?

A few things: we work well beyond natural wood grain, with custom color and texture options most makers don't offer; every piece integrates concealed lighting rather than relying on a separate lamp; and each is designed from scratch around your space, so no two are alike. DJ brings 15 years of project management experience, a background in engineering, and an artist's eye — and we're consistently rated 5.0 stars by our clients.
